Family Highlights

Six day trip to Disney World the first week of December. Great time to go - except for two days of rain - No waiting in any lines through out Disneyland and Epcot.

Accomodations

Swan Hotel
www.swandolphin.com
(407) 934-3000

------------------
Huge resort Hotel. Two hotels in one - the Swan and its neighbor the Dolphin. They are both on the Disney World Property but are owned by Starwood Hotel Chain. The hotel was OK. The kids loved the eight pools. They have a sandy beach and a playground and a video arcade. Lots of kids around and kid friendly. We did not try the evening babysitting kids club but it looked great for our kids next time.
Amenities include: pool, cabana, health club, spa, golf, kids club, child care, refrigerator, internet access.

Dining Highlights

Both hotels had about eight restaurants - all are kid friendly. Two have family dinners for four at $25. The hotel is close to the "boardwalk" and other dinning experiences. Concierge happy to make reservations.

Shopping

There is tons of Shopping at Disney World.

Entertainment

All 1200 acres of Disney World are for entertainment!

Local Transportation

We used www.tiffianytowncars.com. $108 for round trip ride to and from Orlando International airport. Great Service. THE BEST THING - the driver drove us to the grocery store! He gave us 30 min to shop - cheaper way to deal with Disney Land.

Prices

Hotel room was fair. The restaurants had a wide selection of prices - most kids menu items started at 6.99. We had a bowl of chicken noodle soup for $3.50. The kids enjoyed the soup too!

Fun For Kids

What kid would not love four days at Disney World!

Fun For Mom & Dad

Having resort, pool and playground easily accessible. The "Cabana" delivers drinks and food. I did not try the spa - it looked good. The work out room was well stocked.

Pros & Cons

Pros We took Delta Airlines. It was great for my two kids. They each got their own seat back monitor which they watched kids TV programs. It was very helpful for the four hour plane ride from LA to FL. Disney was made for Kids! Downtown Disney was free - they have a huge Lego store with a lot of LEGOs to play with. My son could have spent hours at the store. Staying at the Hotel allowed us to benefit from the extra Disney Hours - both early AM and Late PM.

Cons Disney World is expensive. We were there for five days and I was tired by day two. The three hour time change was hard to adjust to.

Tips for Travel

Having a private car was great. I heard from other families the Disney Shuttle takes 2+ hours to get to your hotel since the Disney Shuttle stops at all the hotels.
