Each month we post a wish list for a different organization in town. It is our hope that people in the community who see this list might be able to help meet these needs in some way. Shoes That Fit

Can you imagine being a little boy, too ashamed to come to school because you have nothing to wear on your feet except your sister's pink plastic jelly shoes? Or having to use one hand to hold up the borrowed trousers you're wearing so that they won't fall down? Elodie McGuirk founded Shoes That Fit, a non-profit children's charity that began in 1992. We help children in need by providing them with new shoes and clothes so that they can attend school in comfort and with dignity. New clothing items that are appropriate for school help these children fit in, allowing them to concentrate on their studies rather than their circumstances. Today, the five employees at our national headquarters in Claremont, California manage volunteer coordinators nationwide who run programs in hundreds of schools across the U.S. Shoes That Fit operates exclusively on private donations - we receive no government funding
