Nominated by Renee BarreraI think that Melissa should be nominated becasue she is the epitomy of a mom. She has 5 kids that range in age from 8yrs to 14 yrs and is very involved in their lives. Melissa is the type of women that will help out in anyway she can. Whether it be at a PTA meeting, an ear to listen, carpooling,whatever she is there. and she does all this despite having MS. Melissa is funny and loves to laugh, she is a great mom and wife. I truly look up to her and am proud to say she is my Hero. Thank you.
Dads of the Year
Andrew McKindley
Nominated by kristy mckindleyMy husband is Dad of the year, for many reasons!!! We have a 15month old son, Ethan, which Andrew just adores. Andrew was in Iraq during my whole pregnancy, so it was tough. Though he would make due. He even recorded hismself on tape reading books for me play for our son in utero. For a year after he came home, he was the main cargiver for our son, since I had to go back to work. He is so involved with Ethan. He's the first to get up with him in the middle of the night, and wake up with him in the morning. He's a hands on father, and his favorite thing to do is to play with our son. Not only is he a great father he's a wonderful husband and Uncle. He makes time to referee my Niece's soccer games as well. And even though he's back at work , he hasn't changed a bit. We have another son due in May, and I just know Andrew will do great. He will always be Dad of the year to us!!!
